Making Extended Reality Work in Rehabilitation: Integrating Therapy and Technology

Samenvatting

This study explores how Extended Reality (XR) can be integrated into rehabilitation care using a service blueprint. Through co-creation sessions with patients, caregivers, therapists, innovation managers, and experts, the researchers found that XR use should be tailored to each patient’s rehabilitation phase, energy level, and goals. Because the existing patient journey map did not provide suitable opportunities for XR, a new flexible service blueprint was developed. The findings suggest that integrating XR into routine rehabilitation requires a fundamental redesign of current workflows and may involve reallocating part of face-to-face therapy time. *Part of project*: *ZIVRA: Zelfstandig en intensief trainen via extended reality: innovatie in CVA-revalidatie.* Attached are a PowerPoint presentation and the abstract book containing the conference contributions.
