The most magical thing about Talentenplein is how different the rooms are

I’m Precious and I study Global Project and Change Management. I’m originally from Nigeria but spent half my life in Ireland. Now I live in Zwolle and I’ve got my own studio at Talentenplein!​

There’s an app for your laundry    

All rooms have their own toilet and kitchen, so it’s very private. The Wi-Fi comes with the studio and there are facilities do your laundry. The laundry has a very efficient system that is done through an app on your phone. There are group chats and Facebook groups so you can easily get in contact with every other tenant. Although you live with many students, the noise is minimal. The rooms generally seem to be soundproof as there is never a disturbance in terms of sound. Even if there’s a large number of people screaming outside, just close your window and it disappears.  

My favourite thing about living here is definitely the location. Everything is within walkable distance. At a four-minute walk you have the cinema and the grocery store, which is perfect! I still use my bike. I cycle to school on a daily basis, but that’s only ten minutes of cycling. So the location is great!  

Easy to hang out  

A lot of my classmates live at Talentenplein. So it’s super easy to hang out, study together or even run to each other’s studios (in your pyjamas) to grab some milk. The most magical thing about this place is how differently people decorate and furnish their rooms. I have walked into a few rooms and definitely was taken aback by how creatively and amazingly the room was structured.  

The location, the facilities, to have your own place while it’s still easy to hang out, that’s why I really enjoy living here. If you’re interested in living at Talentenplein you can sign up at SSH (Student Housing). Maybe we’ll be future neighbours!
